While the amount of improvement will depend upon several factors, including the degree of wrinkling and sagging already present, facelift surgery will generally improve upon the most visible signs of aging. The procedure can enhance the overall facial appearance and its features, often restoring a more youthful and fresher look. If the degree of wrinkling and sagging present is minimal, the changes may appear subtle. If, however, wrinkling and sagging are great, the results can be particularly dramatic. As with many cosmetic surgeries, patients often receive the added benefit of increased self-confidence.

Facelift surgery does have its limitations.  The procedure will not stop the aging process and cannot restore the health and vitality of youth.
