Surprisingly enough, you can find a lot about a doctor all on your own, by doing a little digging, or a background check of sorts. When making your choice, keep the following in mind:

• Price is certainly important, but the quality of the facelift procedure and the experience and expertise of the surgeon performing the procedure are crucial.

• Check out your doctor! You can – and should – contact state boards and medical societies to verify a doctor's qualifications and experience, as well as his or her past patients to verify the quality of his or her work.
• Ask questions! Don't be afraid to ask questions, this is major surgery after all. Just a few of the important questions that you should find answers to include the following: Is the surgeon Board Certified? Does the doctor have privileges to perform facelift surgery at an accredited hospital? Does the surgeon make facelift surgery a major part of his/her practice and does he-she have any special training?
